Join us for a special Film Premiere & Open Day, celebrating the history and future of the Lithgow Small Arms Factor  y Museum. This is more than just a day at the museum—it’s a chance to connect with our community, explore parts of our nationally significant collection, and be part of an important conversation about what comes next. 

Film Premiere: A Story of Resilience

Experience the premiere of our 34-minute documentary by Nick Agafonoff, an immersive film that takes you into the heart of the museum. Through the voices of dedicated volunteers and former factory workers, the documentary reveals the deep personal and historical significance of this site—and the battle to keep it alive. It asks an urgent question: can Lithgow and Australia afford to lose such a vital cultural institution?

Community Day: Discover, Learn & Connect

Throughout the day, visitors can take tours of our displays (note: no firearms are on display), chat with our knowledgeable guides, and browse unique items in our Museum Shop. Between film screenings, a presentation on the museum’s future will run, outlining the challenges we face and our vision for what comes next.
